Sunday, May 19, 2019 1:00-3:00 PM ADDICTION, TRAUMA AND FREEDOM LOVE DONATION Workshop with Denise Lamoureux The addiction rate in this country is at an all-time high. Teenage opiate use and heroin overdoses are increasing at alarming rate. Trauma is at the root of all addiction. Workshop focuses on the connection between trauma & addiction and will ask us to look at addiction differently. We will explore the pain around the addiction vs questioning the addiction itself. We will seek to understand trauma behind the addiction, and ask ‘how did it make you feel inside’? By healing trauma, the old “triggers” that make us pick up a drug or a drink are no longer there. Emotions are no longer "unbearable". We are able to handle our emotions and situations with more emotional stability and make the right choices. Our sobriety becomes a life of joy, happiness and peace. We no longer crave escape. Visualizations such as the Hawkins vibrational scale may be used. Research, studies and statistics also included. Healings with Denise was born from Denise Lamoureux’s own quest to heal from childhood trauma, fear, and addiction. Her journey began after being a successful restaurant owner for 26 years. Despite the success, she felt unworthy, not good enough and unable to stop drinking. Denise was determined to heal and uncover why her success was not enough. Denise became the founder of Finding Feathers, a Wellness Center in Fairfield, CT. She is a certified Crystal Dream Healer, IYS Therapist, Reiki Master, Channel and Trauma healer. May 19, 2019 11:00-12:30pm Sunday Service with Susan Safko Susan is currently serving as the Chairperson of our Pastoral Care Committee. She has completed the Morris Pratt Institute course for Licentiate Minister and is studying for the NSAC Licentiate Minister Certification test. Susan is also President of a 501(c)(3) charity which serves children and teens in need in Fairfield County. She has a Bachelors degree from Georgetown University and a law degree (JD) from Fordham University School of Law. She has been practicing energy healing since 2003, is a Reiki Master (2006), a Chios Master (2006), a Certified Hypnotherapist (2009), and leads meditation courses. The highlight of our Church week is Sunday worship. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY May 12, 2019 11:00-12:30pm Sunday Service with Anne Carbone Anne Carbone, M.A. is a psycho spiritual therapist who has studied for 13 years at The Blue Gate School, a spiritual education center. It is the religious and spiritual branch of The American Institute for Mental Imagery in New York City. Anne studied monotheism, the western tradition which forms the basis for Christianity and Judaism. Her extensive training included education in the prophetic path of Jesus, the visionary way of the prophets known as the Kabbalah of Light, as well as the mystical practices of the Christian saints and Jewish prophets and mystics. Anne’s sermons draw upon Spiritualism and her interfaith background to express messages of hope and the modern day necessity for recognizing our oneness with spirit. They encourage closer, everyday connection with the divine. There is also a practical understanding of how to achieve that connection through detachment from the man-made world: As Jesus taught, to be in the world but not of it. Anne also believes that spiritual growth leads to a greater impulse to help others and heal the world. She seeks to inspire others to use their unique gifts for the greater good. Anne has been practicing psycho spiritual therapy for close to 20 of her 30 years in the mental health field. She provides spiritual counseling to clients of various spiritual traditions as individuals and in groups. Anne has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in psychological counseling. She has had close to 20 years of post-masters’ clinical training, primarily at The American Institute for Mental Imagery.
